Skype 4 Business Preview – round or square avatars

Skype 4 Business (S4B, SfB) Preview (v15.0.4707.1000 -> Lync 2013 Update) has round avatars for your contacts. Just like Skype has, the looks of the coming Lync client will progress even further I hope. But then I downloaded the Office2016 Preview with Lync 2016 preview (v16.0.3823.1005) .

The communication client in Office 2016 Preview is actually called Lync, that can’t be true Microsoft 😉

What are the major differences I have already noticed, I will give you a short list:

– Round or square avatars, what will it be?

                  vs      

– Skype inspired user interface (black & white backgrounds)

– Seperate dial and device control in a meeting

– Minimized meeting window when Skype4Business client is hidden behind other apps (this time OneNote)

– leaner footprint (less memory consumption)

– searching for lync does give you Skype!!!!
