Yammer SSO – double prompt
In November 2014 Microsoft announced the usage of Office 365 credentials to sign into Yammer, until then you could setup SSO for Office365 and SSO for Yammer, now it is becoming one solution.
A few somewhat disappointing facts:
- If you had already setup Yammer SSO then you needed to breakdown this solution and you could get the new Yammer SSO within the upcoming months.
- Last month I got the new Yammer SSO in my Office365 tenant, but it wasn’t SSO unfortunately, it was more like double prompt :(.
Why no Single Sign On?
- I first get a Yammer logon prompt/screen for my Yammer app on my Windows Phone, then I get a logon prompt/ screen for Office365. Not exactly Single Sign On.
- Same happens at my desktop Yammer Notifier

Which leaves me with some questions:
- What does my Yammer app / notifier do with my credentials? It could simply do with a direct redirect to the Azure AD logon Form?
- Is this going to be updated in those apps, and if so, when? (interesting question because the Yammer SSO update is NOT rolled out at once for all Office365 tenants)
